It seems that the UCI is performing its own version of the famous Who’s on First. The UCI sent Alejandro Valverde a nasty email claiming he missed a doping control on June 23rd. A UCI doctor went to Valverde’s house where and Spanish star was not home.
It turns out that the Green Bullet was with his team participating in the Eindhoven Team Time Trial. In fact, Valverde was getting a UCI doping test at the race while the UCI was looking to conduct a test in Spain. On top of that, Valverde’s team sent the UCI a fax on June 12th informing the UCI of the riders participating in the UCI’s ProTour race.
In the wake of all this, the UCI still has not officially backed down from it’s threat of keeping Valverde out of the World Championships.
Do you have a headache? I do.
