Support for ProTour continues to erode

Six National Cycling Federations have declared, after a meeting in Paris, that they “formally” are against the UCI Pro Tour in “its current form”.  Those six are Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, and Luxembourg. The group cited “their deep dissension with the current method of work of the UCI.”

Among some of the many complaints are the way in which the UCI treats the European continental circuit, in its concern of privileging the UCI ProTour and wanting to bring the Continental circuit under the responsibilities of the UEC (European Union of cycling).
