Winning a stage in the D-Tour does not even come close to rectifying the injuste of getting kicked out of the Tour de France, and having your team dragged through the mud but it feels good.
Kazakh rider Assan Bazayev took it to the big boys in the bunch sprint on Stage 1 of the D-Tour. Lampre’s Daniele Napolitano launched the sprint from too far out and took second place with Erik Zabel in third.
Way to go!
