Some suggestions for the ProTour

Men in Tights has posted a suggestion for the ProTour to think about as they search for legitimacy.  The fundamental flaw in the UCI’s thinking according to MIT, is the notion that the ProTour can replicate success in other sports:

The individual nature of cycling means that a series will almost always fail to create a Schumacher or a Real Madrid.

Initially, I thought about Lance Armstrong as the sport’s Michael Schumacher.  Then I thought that Lance was a boon to one race, not the ProTour as Michael Schumacher was to the whole Grand Prix circuit.
