Fabian Cancellara won the World Time Trial championship in Salzburg, Austria by posting a speedy 50.664 km/h over a course with a bit of a difficult profile.

My pick, Dave Zabriskie, finished second 1:29:97 back. Fabian has progressed from a prologue specialist to a major talent by winning this Time Trial as well as the super tough classic Paric-Roubaix. Does he have the makings of a stage race champion?

For all CSI Fans

I’m sorry to say that positive drug tests do not happen as they do on CSI. A lab technician does not put a few drops of clear liquid into a test tube which promptly turns blue indicating guilt. It is a very complex process prone to biases, interpretations and errors.

The below link takes you to Trust But Verify. Under research, a link looks at a study commissioned by the WADA looking at dietary factors that may affect drug test results. Very technical but you should be able to get the gist through the commentary.

Wednesday came and went and still no decision

Wednesday came and went with the Floyd Landis conclave still unable to reach a decision.

Remember when Tyler Hamilton expected a February decision and the CAS waited until April? In fact, they released their decision on the same day as Lance Armstrong announced his retirement. While all the full time cycling journalists are in Georgia, the CAS slides out a press release “Tyler guilty, see you later, bye”

Bloggers in both the Free Floyd Landis and Fry Floyd Landis camps are hereby warned to immediately click on Trust But Verify the moment they hear of any news of biblical proportions. You will probably find the USADA Habemus Papam! there.
