UCI says unidentified rider tested positive at Tour de France

Please no, not now.  Did I think everyone was clean? No but please let it be peloton fodder and not a contender.  Except Andreas Kloden.  I can’t place my finger on him but I never liked him.  Maybe it was the holier than thou attitude after his second place in the 2004.

Given all the hubub going on, the post tour rumor mill is very quiet. Levi going to Discovery. Is it me or is there a separated at birth thing between Levi and Lance?  Jan Ullrich to Discovery as well?  Don’t think that will happen.  Jan is done.  Once the two year ban happens from the UCI, he’ll go quietly into the sunset.  Auf Wiedersehen.

Floyd will most likely stay.  Man, that guy is loyal.  He stuck with Phonak through the whole ProTour no ProTour thing and it paid off.  While he owes them nothing, it seems he will stay.  Will they thank him with a fair contract regardless of his hip?

Why now?

Who starts a cycling blog after the Tour de France? I don’t know, call me nuts but I am now jonesing for cycling. The spring classics, the Giro, the tune-ups then Le Tour. Now what. The Vuelta? Generally, reserved for the Spaniards who do not perform well in France. Hear that Iban?

Well, if the rumors are true, Jan Ullrich (assuming he finds a team) and Ivan Basso are preparing for the last Grand Tour of the year. Is it me or is this kind of wierd.

1) Spanish authorities find evidence of doping among professional athletes

2) A bicycle race in France excludes cyclists who are implicated

3) Those cyclists decide to compete in SPAIN!?
